By creating a Celesse account, you agree to these terms. Celesse is a dating application built on scarcity, intentionality, and accountability. These terms exist to protect the integrity of the community.
You must be at least 18 years old and located in the United States to use Celesse. By registering, you confirm you meet both requirements.
Each person may maintain one account. Celesse uses phone-number verification to authenticate accounts and enforce one account per number; it does not establish a user's real-world identity. Creating multiple accounts, sharing accounts, or using unauthorized phone numbers is prohibited and may result in permanent removal.
Celesse sends automated transactional SMS messages containing one-time security codes only when you request phone verification, sign-in, or account-deletion authorization. Message frequency varies based on your requests. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Opting out may prevent SMS-based account actions until messaging is re-enabled. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchase. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Celesse does not send marketing or promotional SMS.
Celesse measures how you engage. Your reputation score (ELO) reflects your behavior — response patterns, effort, and how you treat your matches. The following are prohibited:

This transparency is a fundamental brand value of Celesse. If you do not consent to AI analysis of your interactions, do not use the service.
Eligible users may enter a 24-hour coaching period. Real matching and real conversations are paused while an active coaching session is in progress. Practice personas are fictional and are always labeled as AI simulations. Practice conversation content is retained through the coaching period so the session can continue across devices, then removed after that period. Derived coaching scores and banked progress may remain on your account until deletion.
Coach access is sold as a one-time consumable in-app purchase, not a recurring subscription. One verified purchase creates one Coach credit. The 24-hour period begins when that credit is activated. Payment unlocks the training environment and does not guarantee clearing, an ELO increase, or any particular match result. Eligible users who do not purchase coaching may continue using the matching experience available at their current reputation tier.
Discounted retries may be offered after meaningful participation in an uncleared session. Availability, qualification windows, and localized prices are displayed before purchase. Store refunds are administered under the applicable Apple App Store or Google Play policies. If a verified technical failure prevents delivery of a purchased session, Celesse may issue a replacement Coach credit.
Celesse provides one match at a time on a seven-day cycle with gradual information reveals. The matching algorithm, ELO scoring, and reveal schedule are designed to reward genuine engagement. Attempting to game, manipulate, or circumvent these systems is prohibited.
Match search begins locally. Metro users are local when they share a verified metro; rural local eligibility uses distance between privacy-preserving area centers. If Celesse cannot offer a local match, you may independently choose Global Mode to search elsewhere in the United States. Non-local matches require both participants to have chosen Global Mode. Long-distance matching does not guarantee that an in-person meeting will be practical, safe, or affordable.
The app attempts to detect and block sharing of phone numbers, email addresses, and social media handles before Day 7 of an active match. On Day 7, each person may independently choose to allow contact sharing. Contact information can be sent through the intended flow only after both people have opted in; one-sided consent reveals nothing. No automated filter is perfect. Attempting to bypass it through creative formatting, coded language, or third-party channels is prohibited.
Messages between real matches are stored while the match is active so conversation history remains available across devices and app restarts. When a match closes, the raw message history is deleted. Derived engagement and safety signals may remain without retaining the conversation text. If a safety report is submitted, Celesse retains the report description and minimum review metadata, not the closed chat transcript.
The Nuclear Button becomes available after an active match cycle has closed. To protect against unauthorized deletion, you must confirm the request with a short-lived, single-use code sent to your verified phone. Successful verification permanently removes your profile, matches, messages, photos, coaching progress, and behavioral data, subject to the safety-enforcement exception below. The action is irreversible.
One exception: when an account is removed for a safety violation, Celesse may retain the minimum account, enforcement, report, and behavioral information needed to prevent re-entry, investigate abuse, protect other users, comply with law, or resolve disputes.
Celesse may display sponsored date venue suggestions. These are labeled through the matching system and respect both users' dietary, price, and interest preferences. Sponsors have no access to your personal data.
Celesse is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee matches, conversation quality, or specific outcomes. We are not liable for interactions that occur on or off the platform.
Celesse is an evolving service and may contain errors, change features, experience interruptions, or reset test data. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to meet another user and for taking appropriate personal-safety precautions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Celesse is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us (if any).
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated through the app.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, particularly for safety violations. Banned users are not entitled to data recovery.
These terms are subject to applicable law and do not waive rights that cannot legally be waived. Formal governing-law, venue, and dispute-resolution provisions must be reviewed by counsel before commercial launch.
